VOICE LESSONS
Pick a song that you want to sing, or bring one you wrote. During the sessions we will analyse it and work on each of its elements, until you are able to sing it without difficulty. We can work on any one of the following aspects of singing, giving priority to those most relevant to you:
diaphragmatic breathing
ear training
rhythm/phrasing
broadening your vocal extension
volume/vocal power
sound colour
vocal effects
(vibrato, runs, breathy voice, vocal breaks, distortion, creaking, growl, grunt, rattle, screams and fry scream)
interpretation technique
improvisation technique
microphone technique and on-stage performance
Never sung before?
If this is your first attempt at singing and you really want to succeed, fear not! There are many things we can work on to release your inner diva or screamer. It all starts with getting used to hearing your singing voice, which can feel like a major discovery in itself. Once you are at ease with what you sound like, you can learn to mould your voice as you wish using some simple tricks so you can, ultimately, perform your favourite songs. All you need is motivation and some time to practice!
Speech technique
Some jobs require people to speak in public on a daily basis at considerable volume: teachers, spokespersons and entertainers alike may experience hoarseness afterwards. If so, you may be interested in learning how to use your speaking voice more efficiently while keeping your vocal cords healthy. I offer voice therapy sessions as a preventive tool for voice disorders.
Voice Rehabilitation
My journey into voice therapy began with a deeply personal experience: my mother had struggled with vocal issues for many years, and I felt a strong, genuine desire to help. As I began the Voice Rehabilitation Course at Complete Vocal Institute, in Copenhagen, I quickly realized that voice therapy was way more complex and far-reaching than I had initially imagined. I discovered that, with my skills as a singing teacher, I could address a wide range of phonatory disorders, from vocal cord nodules and muscle tension dysphonia to neurological voice conditions. This revelation deepened my passion for the field, as I saw firsthand how effective therapy could empower both singers and patients alike, allowing them to regain their vocal health and, ultimately, enhance their communication skills.
Voice therapy is a specialized treatment aimed at addressing challenges in voice production. In my sessions, which are primarily but not exclusively designed for singers, the first step is to identify the specific issue(s) affecting your voice. From there, the focus shifts onto techniques that restore healthy vocal function, improving breath control, pitch, volume, and resonance. My approach is centered around providing compassionate support while ensuring that every aspect of your vocal well-being is taken seriously. Through personalized guidance, I aim to help you achieve a healthier, more vibrant voice, therefore empowering you to communicate with confidence and ease. Along the way, you may even uncover exciting new aspects of your voice, allowing you to feel more in tune with your body and yourself.
